Hash Inspector

Hash Inspector computes SHA-256, SHA-384, and SHA-512 in the browser. It does not submit input to a server and does not persist values.

Data Handling​

  • Input remains in the browser page state.
  • No network request is made by this component.
  • No local storage or session storage is used by this component.
  • Browser extensions, developer tools, or compromised clients remain outside the tool boundary.

Boundary​

Hash Inspector is a convenience utility, not a malware scanner or evidence vault. It does not classify files, prove provenance, or validate whether a file is safe. For sensitive evidence, compute hashes only after confirming that local browser processing is appropriate for the material and the review environment.
